What now
I'm appreciating the complexity of the challenges and the technical complexity behind some of these projects.
The corporate and consulting mindset is not the best fit for me on the long run, and as such I'm always open to evaluate opportunities where the overall goal is closer to my values

June 2024 - now

I have a wide range of responsibilities as designer on innovative projects based in AI, GenAI and Dat a Science. I act as the middle ground between the tech (complex and hard to understand), the users, the business. My typical activities are:
  • Creation and facilitation of workshops
  • User research
  • Assessment of the data
  • Product Design
  • Production of technical and implementation documents and hando-off

Below you find 2 examples of project I take care of - altough, given NDAs and so on, I can't get into detail or show true images
Webapp for job search

I took part in the design of a mobile application aimed at supporting people facing difficulties in accessing employment or training opportunities, part of a specific sector of the population. I led the project from concept definition through user research, UX and UI design, and usability testing.

The solution was intentionally designed to gently guide and support users throughout the experience. Rather than increasing anxiety through excessive choice or FOMO (as often happens ), the product offers a structured and supportive journey that helps users move forward at their own pace.

The main design challenge was finding the right balance between guidance and autonomy: supporting users without creating a limiting or disengaging experience. We addressed this by exploiting gamification and framing the product as a journey of self-reflection, self-discovery, and priority setting.
A key outcome of this choice is that the solution provides value regardless of immediate job or training matches, empowering users through increased self-awareness and clarity that remains beneficial beyond the app itself.
AI-driven document management tool

I led the design of a B2B software product leveraging AI to support the management, reading, analysis of internal documents, and the pre-production of draft reports based on the input.

I engaged users and stakeholders throughout the process to map existing workflows and co-design future ones, ensuring the solution addressed real operational needs and followed a derirable way of working. I translated emerging needs into a prioritization framework, to split them into successive development sprints.

I iteratively designed the product in close collaboration with users and developers, contributing to and expanding the existing design system. In parallel, I defined and embedded responsible GenAI principles to ensure transparent, safe, and trustworthy use of AI.

A key challenge was actively involving highly technical users in creative and ideation activities, which required adapting facilitation methods to bridge technical and design perspectives.

Final considerations

To go further with design and implementation of the idea, there would need to be a wider user research and co-design approach, involving policy makers, users and providers from different areas and demographics.
Some mistakes would need to be avoided, in particular:

> drop a new load of responsibility on the "mom" of the network, without a dynamic of mutual support;

> avoid to create confusion and useless bureaucracy for doctors and nurses;

> caution with privacy and treatment of sensitive data, giving full control
to the users.
